Introduction to 17D Precision Engineering


17D Limited are precision and general engineers based in Cromford, Derbyshire.We can provide a range of precision engineering and general engineering services, including CNC milling, CNC Turning, light fabrication and welding.

We use a variety of CNC lathes, including power tooling for complex work, as well milling work on CNC machining centers, including our recent addition of a state of the art Doosan DNM 4500, equipped with the Renishaw Probing system. Additionally, we are equipped with in-house 3D printing capabilities for the production of patterns for investment and sand casting.

Historically, 17D has, from  day one, produced completed products, from inception and design through to the finished item. We are therefore well placed to understand customers requirements, as opposed to those used to dealing only with making random parts from drawings without the understanding of the finished product.

With a wealth of experience of the railway indsutry generally - from large scale working models up to full size - we are especially able to assist with parts for full size railway projects including heritage railways, where the general engineer may lack that knowledge and experience.
